FNSI

For the last time this year Wendy organised FNSI for us all, and there was 48 people who signed up. Go check them all out HERE! Thanks Wendy for having us all over, and I'm looking forward to all the fun next year!

I can't show very much of what I did sew, it's that time of the year you know, but here's a sneek peek for you.
One thing I can show is the advent calender which was ready and delivered on the 1st of December.
I haven't been doing much in x-stitching over the last couple of years so this was fun but a big project to do in just over a month. It looks really sweet and Henning loves it!
These are my childrens advent calendars that my mother made for them when they were growing up!
Next time I'll show you a wonderful gift I've got from the lovely Cheryll! You can sign up for a Valentine swap at her blog also.

Working hard

Friday night I spent with Wendy for the FNSI. Thanks Wendy for having us all over!
At the moment I'm working hard on the cross-stitch.
I've done some more work after the photo was taken so there's only the numbers left....and ....the dreaded back stitches, I find them so boring to do on cross-stitches but I know they make a lot of difference in the picture. One more week until I have to deliver it.

FNwF

There was 47 of us gathering over at Cheryll's Friday night. Check out what everyone else was making HERE.
I started in the afternoon and actually finished this toilet case for my DS2 who had his birthday on Friday, but he didn't come home from school until Saturday afternoon because there was an open day for the public on Saturday. The case is made out of his old jeans.
Earlier in the week I gave away 3 scarves I've knitted in a strange pom-pom yarn, to the annual church auction. I hope there will be quite a few that likes and bid a lot at them.

Thank you so much Lynn, I love it all!
And a big Thank you to Cheryll for organising a great swap for us!

It's sign up time for FNwF over at Cheryll's. Yes it's the greatest swap mama I just told you about. Go there and sign up for it you too and play along with the rest of us on Friday night!

A week, or was it a second

Last Friday I joined Wendy for FNSI, Thanks Wendy for having us all over! I worked on my cross-stitch, in about a month it has to be finished. (help!) Also worked on some squares for the work-shop I'm giving.

This weekend I'm off to a sewing retreat with Sprätthönsen at Fegens vandrarhem.
It's my first time and I'm so looking forward to it!
I'll even try to use my camera so perhaps you'll see some pics next week. Now just to figure out what to bring with me.

Today was a very chilly day at 6 degrees with a nasty wind, otherwise October has been warm and comfortable. Wednesday I was out walking in the woods, before the rain started in the evening, and got some lovely photos.

Mini swap

The theme for the last 12" Mini swap for the year was Embroidery.
I made one for Florence and now that she has got it I can show it to you.
I also made her a pin cushion and a coaster. I'm so happy she liked it all!
Many thanks to Cheryll for organising the swap for us!

Monday I was preparing for a workshop I was holding in the evening, I was teaching how to make granny squares. So had to have something to show, and made a small pouch using granny squares. I now keep my crochet hooks in it.

My weekend starting with FNwF

Friday night I was sewing with a lot of cyber friends, thanks to Cheryll! If you want to see what all the others were up to, go HERE.

I worked on my stitchery and some socks for a little girl, I think I need to work a lot on that stitchery if I will have it ready in time. I started it a month ago HERE.
On saturday I continued to work on the socks and finished them off. I think they're really cute.
We've had a couple of very nice days here, almost summer at least in the sun without any wind. This was my Sunday morning.

The last of September

I know I haven't been very active in my blogging, but at least I'm working on things!

I've knitted a mystery by Torirot. I knew it would be mittens and they turned out great! I finished them today on the last day of September, and where did this month go I wonder.

And when I was invited to a birthday party to J I had to come up with a present.... and it seems like a bottle bag with a bottle of wine is a winning concept so that's what I gave him.

I know it is now October but I started this post nearly an hour ago, the photos gave me a hard time before I could get them where I wanted.
I still count them as September finishes.  :)

Oh yes -

I'm back
after a long unintentional blog break because of the summer. It's been a very warm, nice and sunny summer. I've been outside as much as possible.
But this Friday I spent with Cheryll and lots of other friends because it was FNWF hosted by Cheryll. Go pay her a visit HERE and check out what all the others were doing!

This year I've become a bonus Nanna to the most wonderful little guy and my DD asked if I could make him an Advent calender and of course I will, so got ahead and ordered one and luckily it was in the mail on Thursday.

Here he is getting a big kiss by the dog!

So I started right away on Friday - I do hope it will be finished before December - this is what I accomplished Friday night.
At least I did square it up so it is a bit easier to see where the different stitches is supposed to be.

FNSI

A few weeks ago I signed up for the 2014 Designer Mystery BOM over at Fat Quarter's. I think I got hold of the very last one, and now I've got the first 2 blocks. I love the fabrics!
That was what my intention was to sew on for FNSI organised by Wendy. Go check out what everyone else was working on HERE.
The weather was too nice to be getting inside, and suddenly the phone rings and I'm invited to a barbeque. Well, what would you have done? I went to the barbeque!
Saturday morning I started cutting the fabrics but I'm sorry to say I haven't sewn a stitch. I've spent all weekend in the lake (could have) taking long swims and spent the rest of the time outside. Actually doing some knitting before it got too warm.
I have had the best of weekends and only have one more week to work before my holiday. Yay!

Summer!

This last week it has really been summer with temperatures up to 30 deg. and sun all day long!
As you may know I'm in the 12 inch Mini club hosted by Cheryll, and the theme now was summer. I sent to Florence and she has received it and tells me she loves it, lucky for me!
This is what was in the package.
Now I'm waiting for mine to arrive, excited to see who it is from!

A week late

I was supposed to post this a week ago but I'm having BIG issues with my computer. This is the first time it really starts when I try to switch it on. I guess I have to get a new one!
And I needed to write a post about the FNwF I joined in last friday night. Thanks Cheryll for organizing us all!
I started the night with making another bottle bag to give to a friend on her birthday. It was well received!

For the rest of the night I was working on two 12" blocks for a swap with Kerry in the QBSA.
You just get to see a sneak peek of them, I don't want to spoil the surprise for  Kerry. It's the Scrapbagger and Goose creek block.

And last a photo of my Honeysuckle, it smells divine!

Where did June go?

I don't understand where the time flies?
It's the first and then it's the last day of the month again, nothing in the between it seems.
I'm knitting a lot but no photos yet, have to get a decent photographer to come and visit because when I ask my sons to do it they just snap a pic and wants to get on with whatever they are doing. Usually it's working on their cars so I don't want to be too close to them, avoiding to get any stains on my work. That's why I dont have anything knitted to show you.

But I was in a Mug Rug swap some time ago and was partnered with Michelle from the US. And boy was she spoiling me with theese beautiful mug rugs along with patterns, fabrics, needle case and a fridge magnet! Thank you so much Michelle I love it all!

This is what I sent to her, the two mug rugs, some fabrics with a ribbon and a pin cushion and a chocolate bar.

Here you can see the pin cushion a bit better...... I think I need to make one for myself! Because the bird pin cushion I made for me flied away to live with my daughter.

FNSI

Friday night I joined Wendy with 63 others for a fun night with stitches! Go check out what all the others were doing HERE.
I finished this bag that I brought with me to the Midsummer festivity I've been to tonight, to give to the hostess with a bottle of wine in it. I'm so happy that she loved it!
Thanks Wendy for organising us all!
